New Addition to Harris Family

Kenneth R Harris, Jr., '94 NC Nu (Duke), is pleased to announce that on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 3:55pm, his wife Sarah gave birth to a beautiful daughter, Sawyer Rhyne Morgan Harris. He writes: "She weighed a perfect 7 lbs 10 ozs and was 20 inches long. Despite some complications that lengthened our stay an extra day, Sarah is doing well and she and Sawyer are with me at home enjoying each other." NC Nu Delegates Return from Leadership School

Bryce Pittard, '12, a native of Pinehurst, NC, and Tim Light '12, a native of Bryan,Tim Texas, represented the Colony at the 75th Annual John O Moseley Leadership School on Aug 5-8. The past few years the school has been a summer cruise from the east or west coast, bringing a lot more capacity and interest.

Earle Rice '47 Retires his Law Firm

ANDERSON, SC — Jan 24, 2010 - In his thin hands, Earl Rice ('47 NC Nu) holds a small wooden gavel, affixed with a metal name plate. He turns it round and round, by the handle, showing the dents on both sides where he used it in his days presiding over Anderson County courts.

Rice has spent nearly 70 years practicing law or enforcing it here in Anderson. In fact, for 102 years, the Rice family has practiced law in Anderson. Now, as Rice nears his 90th birthday, he’s finally retired.....more here...

Stuart Nash '87 Appointed to Superior Court

In April 2010, the US Senate unanimously confirmed the nomination of Stuart Gordon Nash '87, of the District of Columbia, to be an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia for the term of fifteen years.

Nash, 43, is the associate deputy attorney general and director of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Program at the U.S. Department of Justice. He served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia from 1997 to 2004 and spent three years at Williams & Connolly LLP. He is a graduate of Duke University and Harvard Law School and clerked for Judge Sam J. Ervin, chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and Judge T. S. Ellis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

New Eminent Archon

Delegates to Leadership School

Brothers Andrew Lynn and Zach Carlton attended the 2009 SAE 74th John Moseley Leadership School in San Diego. Unlike previous schools which were held in Evanston near the Levere Temple, the last few years the schools have been on cruise ships departing from Miami or San Diego.
